Marche Madness – Tuesday March 19th, 7:30PM

Put away your office pools and brackets, this isn’t the March Madness you are thinking of! This concert will revolve around the diversity of the March form of music.

Join the Walnut Creek Concert Band under the direction of Musical Director Harvey Benstein and Assistant conductor Lauren Gibson as we present this amazing Spring concert that will show the different styles of marches that have made music unique.

Featuring works by Holst, Hindemuth, Mackey, Barber, Bernstein, to name a few.

Joining the festivities as guest conductors is Dr. Matthew Sadowski who is the director of bands at the University of California at Berkeley, and as a very special guest will be David Betancourt conducting his special piece “Hope Rising”

Also joining the band to play a piece is the Saxophone Quartet “Quartet Redacted” from the University of the Pacific in Stockton, CA, as a tribute to their late director, Dr. Eric Hammer.

This concert is being dedicated to Willam “Bud” Brickell, who was a charter member of the band serving the band as both a band member, and in other capacities.

Tickets are available at the Lesher Center Box Office, and students are free with the code phrase “Band Fan”.
